Presbyterian Women
For over two hundred years, Presbyterian Women (PW) organizations have played a vital role in the mission and ministry of the Presbyterian Church. Today, that rich history continues in congregations, synods, and presbyteries across the denomination.
While the Presbyterian Women in the Presbytery (PWP) has currently suspended activities, many Blackhawk congregations still have active Presbyterian Women circles. These circles conduct Bible study, engage in church and community projects, and contribute to special offerings such as the Birthday Offering, Thank Offering, and Fellowship of the Least Coin which provide funding for childcare, agricultural projects, and community development to name just a few.
Today, the contributions that Presbyterian Women organizations make to the life of the church embody their Purpose Statement and reflect their mission and ministry.
Presbyterian Women Purpose

to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
to support the mission of the church worldwide,
to work for justice and peace, and
to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA)
and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.
