The Transitions Committee serves as the presbytery’s resource for Ministry Discernment Profiles (MDPs), Church  Leadership Connection (CLC), Midwest Call Finder and pastoral leadership options. It guides congregations and Sessions through times of pastoral transition, including interim leadership, calling a new pastor, and when necessary, discernment around closing a ministry.  

Responsibilities include:

• Advising Sessions on temporary pastoral leadership and pulpit supply

• Guiding congregations through the pastoral call process, including MDP and CLC

• Supporting exploration of pastoral leadership options, including commissioned pastors

• Providing training and oversight for non-PCUSA ministers serving congregations

In coordination with COM:

• Approving and overseeing pastoral relationships (temporary, interim, supply and commissioned pastors)

• Acting on transfers, calls, contract renewals, and dissolutions

• Approving creation or dissolution of pastoral positions

• Supporting ordination and installation processes through Administrative Commission
